About Caltrys Chronicles

My name is Evelyn Cazier, and I’m still in high school. Why is that noteworthy? Well, I’ve written a 500 page novel.

Four years ago, my homeschool writer’s group gave me two options: do the boring assignments or write a story. You can probably guess what I chose.

The small decision to write a story sparked my dream of becoming an author. The story began as a random idea. It wasn’t even a full plot, just a few scenes. After months of work, this story started to turn into a book, and then… I got stuck. Frustrated, I was going to just put it aside and move on with my life, but it kept drawing me back. I decided to rewrite it and further develop my plot. I finished my first full draft on September 27th, 2021. I was stunned that I had actually written a full novel, but I knew I couldn’t stop there.

I continued to rewrite and edit for the next three years with a new goal in mind: I want to publish before I turn eighteen. Five drafts, lots of edits, and thousands of hours later, I have nearly reached the finish line.

Inside, she touches a glowing gemstone and is transported to Caltrys, a world much different from her own. After inadvertently rescuing a criminal named Levi, Ember clings to the hope that Levi can help her get home. Levi has no interest in Ember’s story—until he witnesses her raw, untamed power. Little does Ember know, her newfound ability to wield magic makes her a pawn in a dangerous game.

The Caltrys Chronicles is an epic fantasy series that is scheduled to debut this August. Book one is written and book two is in the works. Magic, adventure, and mystery are tied into one as a girl from our world has to navigate a country fraught with danger and secrets.
